- Analyze Instagram screenshots for gift recommendations (Premium feature)
Usage Information
We automatically collect certain information when you use our app:
- Device information (model, operating system)
- App usage statistics
- Error logs and crash reports
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain our services
- Generate personalized gift recommendations using AI
- Send birthday reminders and notifications
- Improve and personalize your experience

- Process payments for Premium subscriptions

3. AI-Powered Gift Recommendations
WishMe uses OpenAI's GPT-4.1 to generate personalized gift recommendations. When you request gift ideas:
- We send your friend's interests, age, and gender to OpenAI's API
- For Premium Instagram Analysis, we send uploaded images to OpenAI for analysis
- OpenAI processes this data according to their Privacy Policy
- Data sent to OpenAI is not used to train their models
- We do not store the AI-generated recommendations permanently
4. Data Storage
Currently, all your data is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage:
- Your profile information
- Friends and groups
- Saved gift ideas
- App preferences
Important: If you uninstall the app, all local data will be deleted. We recommend regular backups if you use the export feature.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly agree to share information
- Service Providers: With OpenAI for gift recommendations, payment processors for Premium subscriptions
- Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, sale, or acquisition
6. Third-Party Services
Our app integrates with the following third-party services:
- OpenAI: For AI-powered gift recommendations (Privacy Policy)
- Expo: For app development and notifications (Privacy Policy)
- Payment Processor: For Premium subscriptions (Stripe or RevenueCat)
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data we store about you (via export feature)

- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data

8. Children's Privacy
Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. When using OpenAI services, data may be processed in the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
11. Data Retention
All data is stored locally on your device only. We do not retain any of your personal data on our servers. Your data persists on your device until you:
- Uninstall the app (permanent deletion)
- Use the "Delete All Data" option in app settings
- Clear the app's data through device settings
The only data that leaves your device is gift recommendation requests sent to OpenAI, which are not stored by us.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Sending you a notification for material changes
